The Aero XR is a technically advanced match and feeder reel containing all of the attributes required by top competition anglers. The smallest 3000 size is perfect for all float fishing and close range feeder fishing, the mid-sized 4000 is ideal for larger float work or mid range feeder fishing and the largest 5000 size is ideal for longer feeder work or mid-range heavy feeder work. With a G-Free CI4+ body and rotor all models are remarkably light, with the 4000 size weighing only 250g, which is a noticeable reduction compared to competitor models of the same size. An additional advantage which you can feel is the precision of the lightweight rotation, which is a result of the CI4+ Rotor construction and the HAGANE Gear, X-SHIP, Silent Drive technology. Additional features include the best AR-C Cold Forged Aluminium spools, (including a spare spool) with a line reducer to reduce the line capacity of the reel. The larger 5000 model has an additional reducer for use with braid when feeder fishing at long range. The HAGANE Drive Gear is produced by Shimano’s coldforging technology, without the need for additional machining. This delivers a longlasting smoothness, strength, lightness and power at the very heart of the reel. Traditional diecast, machined gears are less durable under heavy loads.

X SHIP provides improved gear durability. By supporting the pinion gear on both ends with bearings, the pinion gear maintains precise alignment with the drive gear. This increased support allows the gears to stay in the same position under the heaviest loads. X-Ship technology also eliminates the friction between the spool shaft and gear to further benefit anglers with enhanced casting performance and casting distance of lighter lures.

The basic design of the entire body and drive-related parts were reviewed one by one to reduce minute rattles, gaps, and shaking between parts down to the smallest detail. It provides smooth and quiet reel rotation.

G FREE BODY technology has been developed to shift the reel's center of gravity closer to the rod. By moving the center of gravity closer to the angler’s hand, the G FREE BODY helps to reduce fatigue and enhance casting comfort.
